On May 1st, 2024 in Jaipur city a significant step towards transforming Jaipur into a plastic waste-free city was taken on May 1st with the launch of FINILOOP, a pioneering program aimed at revolutionizing plastic waste management through best practices and innovative solutions. The launch event, graced by esteemed dignitaries including Ms. Arshdeep Brar, DC Malviya Nagar Zone, Mr. Naveen Bharadwaj, DC Health, Mr. Atul Sharma DC Garage, Nagar Nigam Greater, and Mr. Jai Vashisht, Parshad Ward 81, marked the beginning of a collaborative effort towards a cleaner and greener Jaipur.

FINILOOP “Financial Inclusion of Improved Livelihoods Out of Plastics”, is a city-level initiative aims to combat plastic waste pollution, enhance solid waste management practices, and uplift the livelihoods of informal waste workers involved in the plastic waste value chain. The FINILOOP program is dedicated to establishing plastic waste-free cities by implementing a comprehensive waste management model. With the support of the IKEA Foundation, programme is operating from 2022 to 2025, focusing on Udaipur & Jaipur (Rajasthan), Amritsar (Punjab) in India. FINILOOP aims to increase recovery rates, reduce plastic waste leakage, and empower marginalized communities by promoting inclusive and circular waste management processes. The program aspires to serve as a global model for addressing plastic waste leakage, fostering a more sustainable and inclusive approach to waste management.

FINILOOP’s objectives is to: Contribute to the improvement of sustainable waste management systems , Improve the livelihoods of informal waste workers, Professionalize and scale the plastic waste management sector & Create cleaner communities through awareness raising and behaviour change
